New Found Love! - Ted Baker Makeup Bags

Ive decided that I want to do a little 'New Found Love' trend for my blog so that I can share with you new things that I find and fall in love with! I think its a great little way to do a mini review or just to tell you about pretty things that enter my life! As you all can tell Im not the most organized person in the land so Im not promising this on a weekly or monthly basis, just for whenever I find something that I want to share with you all!

Today's New Found Love is dedicated to the new range of Ted Baker range of makeup or cosmetic bags. First of all I have to say that I have completely and utterly fallen in love with them! As you all know I am a massive fan of anything that is vintage and floral and have a massive love for bird print, so basically these fall into all of these categories. They really are the most beautiful bags that I have ever seen!

They come in a range of bags such as medium, small and large makeup bags, wash bags and also a travel bag (the one that I have) which is the same print but on a clear plastic makeup bag rather than a silky smooth one. Still fabulous though....

However although they are beautiful they do come at a price ranging between £8-£20 ish...
The Medium Makeup Bag.

Design from the Clear Travel Bag

They are all a great size and I just felt that it would be ideal for my travel makeup bits for my holiday in a couple of weeks time so decided to treat myself at £10. However the medium makeup bag is on the top of my Christmas list this year!

Go and check them out at Boots and see for yourself why I have fallen in love with these new makeup bags!

October Organisation!

Hello there!

I have to say that I have been truly inspired by Sprinkle of Glitter's '7 things for 7 days' blog posts and mini targets recently, and it has led me on to feeling like I want to be a part of this and set myself some little challenges and organizational projects throughout the next few weeks! Plus who doesn't like making a good list!

Ive felt that over the past few weeks my life has been turned upside down a bit, due to things such and work and money (boo these things) so I think that its time to get it back on track and to start enjoying the little things in life again!

7 Things For 7 Days

Eat More Fruit. Im very good and eating my vegetables because I love them so much, but I feel that I don't have enough fruit in my diet and this needs to change! It does make me feel so much better about myself when I choose to pick up a punnel of grapes rather than a bar of Dairy Milk (even though we all know which one is best) and then I don't get the guilty feeling afterwards!

Exercise at least twice a week! I have been going mentally crazy at the gym this past month as I signed up to a 6 weeks cheap contract which has really motivated me to keep going everyday before work and I have noticed a massive difference in my body shape and more importantly my confidence! However these 6 weeks are coming to an end on Monday morning, so it is going to be my aim to try and keep going at least twice a week to keep myself feeling good!

Read a book! Whilst I was in Scotland during July and August I managed to read 5 boos in 2 weeks and it felt AMAZING to be able to just loose myself in a good story again after so many years of not having time with Uni! I promised myself that I was going to keep reading when I came back but just haven't found the time! So Im going to find myself a good one in a charity shop and turn the tv off at night and just sit in my bed and get lost in a book again!

Date my boyfriend! I lost Matt to Thailand for 5 weeks over August and its been amazing having him back again but there just hasn't been time or the money for us to be able to do something nice together, and he now goes back to Uni again on Sunday. Therefore before he goes I am arranging a little night in together with treats, wine and a movie so that we can have out own little inexpensive date night whilst the house is free for us just to enjoy each others company in peace and quiet :) Im also going to arrange Skype dates for us whilst he's away to keep up my targets!

Relax and have me time! Ive been all over the shop recently and really down and teary about work and money issues and have just found myself being a massive stress head! Its time to just take a few moments to myself now and again and think about life and enjoy my own company without everyone else butting in! Im going to go out for a coffee or tea (and with my book) once a week on my own just to take a breather from the rest of the world!

Save up to £80 a week! I have had a serious lack of funds recently, and for no apparent reason at all as I don't seem to spend much money in general! But due to the fact that I get payed in cash weekly it means that I do have very little money going into my account each month and lots to come out of it for things such a petrol etc! Therefore I am going to make it my aim to try and put away at least £80 a week of my wages to try and get a little lump sum together for things such as holiday as christmas presents!

Organise myself and my life! There are a few things I need to organize in the next few weeks... I am going to sit down a write a plan for the new year (2013) and work out where I want to be at the end of it! I am also going to get organized early for Christmas this year too as I normally leave everything to the last minute and never have any money left for presents for people (see above) so am going to start getting little bits early, as in the next couple of weeks, eeee! And last I need to organize my own business! I need to work out how Im going to promote myself properly in order to make the most out of my work that I can!

:)

So there we go! A nice little October target list for me to complete! Lets get going!

Do you have any tips on how to organize your own life?

Tidy Room Tidy Mind :)

Over the past few months my life has been very untidy, which has made my mind left in a conjumble of fuzzy-ness!

My uncle has been staying with us over the past 7 months and due to the fact that my office is our only spare room, that is where he has set up camp! Therefore I have not been able to have full use of it and the whole place has been a complete state, which I found has left me very unmotivated with my work and left my head very unorganized!

Alongside this I have found that my life in my bedroom has also been very messy too so took the time today to start my clear out!

I started today with my 'beauty' things as these have been all over the place for a long time.

Ive had it all stored in 2 pointless drawers and a number of boxes here, there and everywhere! So haven't really got it clear in my mind where everything has been!

Therefore I took the time to sort it all out and throw a great deal away and manage it all into one place!

I decided to move my t'shirts draw and move around a couple of other drawers to put all of my beauty type things all together into on big space which I can then add to when needed.

And here's how it turned out.....

Ive used a Glossy box and lid to group together creams and body lotions in one and Nail products and lipsticks in the other. I have also found a wicker basket to contain all eye pallets and liners in.

On the side is my treasured Tiffany bracelet so that I know its kept in a safe place and also my hair straighteners and dryer.

Alondside this I found a large jar to keep in all of my nail polishes that are used regularly, or at least my favorites, which I feel has also created a nice little display idea for my room :)

Even though it just a small change, it definitely has helped my mind into starting to feel a little bit more organized. But theres still lots to be done :)

Do you have any tips on how to get organized when your mind is feeling a mess? It would be great for some advice!!

Bargain Galore!

Yesss I know that I am supposed to be on a saving spree at this moment in time, but despite a tiny prim ark visit I have been doing quite well (sort of). However, we all love a bit of a good deal in our lives so I refuse to feel guilty about this teeny purchase :)

I was sent up to our town centre to withdraw some money for the mother and also to pop into Boots to get a tub of No7 face cream for my elderly neighbor (as I'm such a good Samaritan) and there just happened to be a 3 for 2 'mix and match' deal on the No7 products in Boots at this moment in time! I always feel that Boots do great bargains with they No7 collections and I am all for the £5 vouchers that they regularly do!

Anyway, I was having a little nose around as Ive been wanting to try out some new cheaper and high street cleansing lotions and found this in their range.

Its the 'Beautiful Skin' cleansing lotion for normal to dry skin. I do tend to suffer quite a lot with dry skin around my body and on my face, particularly around my nose and a lot of the other cleansers Ive tried have been in liquid form so do seem to dry my face out, so Im really looking forwards to giving this a go! Depending on how it goes I will consider doing a review on this product after a 2 week trial period! It was also reasonably priced at £8 for 200ml which I was definitely willing to pay!

So that was 2 out of 3 products that I could choose. With the first 2 being close to £10 each I opted for something a little bit cheaper so that it would be the free product! I went to look in the makeup section and realized there wasn't much I need at this point in time in terms of bases or foundations or blushers so decided to treat myself to a new nail polish!

The weather in England recently has gone from being beautiful to really poopy with lots of cloud and drizzle so I chose this color in Milan. Its not the brightest of colors but Im not allowed to wear bright colors to work so thought this would be handy, and it also contains a bit of glitter to brighten myself up on these rainy days! I love the color and also thought it would be lovely and appropriate for the festive seasons too!

The polish was priced at £7 which with the other two products came to a price of £25! However with the 3 for 2...

£25 - £7 = £18 (genius)

So I though that was a pretty good price for a cleanser and polish for myself :)

No regrets!

Petite-Moi OOTD. Baby Shower :)

I thought that I would just do a little post about what Ive been wearing today as I love it so much and just wanted to share it :)

I bought this super cute playsuit in Primark yesterday and have fallen in love with it! It a great length and fit and is covered in little penguins! Just too cute! It also came with the little black bow belt attached  which I thought was great as I usually find belts that come with outfits a but rubbish but I love this!

I teamed it up with my mint snake print shoulder bag also from Primark to give a pop of summery color against the browns and greys of the suit!

Such a simple, cute and comfy outfit!

Liebster Award :)

This is my first thing that I have been tagged in so this is very exciting :)

I was tagged by the amazing Charlotte form 'Charlottes Web'! It took me a while to re-read over the instructions so I hope I have managed to get it right :)

Okay, to begin...

11 Things About Myself:

*I am going to be 20 years old in 11 days (woop woop)
*My family originally comes from the Italians
*I love my cat almost more than my friends
*Titanic is my most favorite film of all time (mmm Di'Caprio)
*I have been with my boyfriend for 6 years
*I am currently trying to start my own photography business
*Michael Jackson is a massive part of my life, and I love him dearly (more the man than the music)
*I secretly would love to be a couple of inches taller at times (only 5ft now)
*I would love to go to Paris sometime soon, Ive never actually been (other than Disney Land)
*Im a big Eastenders fan
*My favorite book is 'One Day' by David Nicholls and I have fallen in love with Dexter Mayhew.

Wow, that was actually quite difficult to try and choose what to put on here :)

Now then, the next part....

11 Things Charlotte Asked me:

*What is your worst habit? Haaa okay, this is really gross, but I love sitting in front of a mirror and squeezing anything that will come out of my face, spots, blackheads, etc. MING!

*What is your most expensive item you have bought, minus car, laptop etc? Urmm I don't usually buy expensive things as Im a bit of a bargain hunter, but it probably has to be my UGG boots, mainly because I knew they would last me forever!

*What is your favorite quote? Easy one! Its 'Love lives forever' by Michael Jackson. Its so true, I think no matter what you do in life you are always going to have someone that loves you :) I also have it tattooed around my wrist.

*What are your two favorite blogs at the moment? Hmmm it has to be Sprinkle of Glitter as it is my favorite blog of all time, and most probably yours Charlotte :D Charlottes Web, I love your style and having an interest in photography too its just such a joy to read!

*What beauty product could you not live without? Hmm I don't tend to wear much makeup and products anyway, but if it had to be one thing it has to be my Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara. I wear it everyday and its literally just amazing!

*What are your career aspirations for the future? Well seeing as Im trying to start my own photography I suppose it had best be that. I aim to be a wedding photographer as I just love weddings anyway. But if all else fails then I would love so much to have my own tea room :)

*What is your morning routine? Wake up. Wee. Eat breakfast. Shower. Get dressed. Brush teeth. Its all very simple really, it only takes me about 20 minutes to get ready in the morning!

*What is your favorite magazine and book? Magazine: Elle - due to the fact that theres quite a good combination of high street fashion in there too, so I can look realistically! And Book: One Day - it was just such an amazing love story and written so well!

*If you could travel to any country in the world where would you go? Hmmm probably Paris right now, as I said Ive never been there properly and it just looks so amazing!

*What is your opinion on buying second hand clothes? I love it!! I spend quite a lot of time in charity shops and I think its so bad that people don't give them a second look! You can get some really great stuff in there, and seeing as Granny Chic is really in at the moment its perfect!

*What could you do to make yourself happier? Retire? Ha! Urmm probably exercise more as I hate feeling bloated and frumpy! Just a shame Im a bit lazy, but trying to change my ways!

Wellll now you all know me a little bit better :)

11 Things I want to Ask:

*How would you best describe your style?
*If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
*Do you have a career plan? If so what is it?
*How would you describe your perfect lazy day?
*If you could save all your money to buy one thing what would it be?
*What do you own more of, clothes or makeup?
*What do you like to do for fun?
*What is your favorite film and book?
*If there was one thing you would change about yourself what would it be?
*Why did you choose to start blogging?
*What is the one thing that is making you happiest right now?

Holiday Detox Time...

Yay Im back!!

I am truly sorry for my absence, I have not forgotten about you all, I have just been stuck in a caravan with my parents for 16 nights in Scotland, with no personal space and sleeping on a sofa. Not cool. However now I am back and back to my normal life routine and back to blogging. Yay!

Although I had an A-mazing time away and it actually allowed me to see how great our country is and that you can actually have a lovely holiday without having to get on a plane, there has been a massive downfall to this holiday....my eating lifestyle! I am normally quite good with what I eat and know when to stop myself when I know Ive eaten too much rubbish! I try to stay away from eating manufactured products all the time and do tend to love my fruit and veg (veg more). However, I think I just completely tipped over the edge in Scotland. We seemed to spend a lot of our time in little tea rooms eating humongous slices of chocolate cake or victoria sponge mmmm.....and then bringing big cream cakes back to eat on an evening. This mixed in with meals out, fizzy drinks, alcohol and just plain rubbish has not been good my my shape, or my stomach! For the last two days of my holiday I had a serious painful tummy which felt like it was being twisted and about to explode. It turns out there is only so much cream I can eat!

Anyway, Im not normally one who fusses too much over body image anymore as I have just really learnt to love how I have been built, and also the face that I love chocolate too much to care! However, when it came to put my jeans on this morning that I had left at home, it suddenly hit me that I may have gained an extra couple of pounds....there was a very tight squeeze.

So it turns out I am now on a big holiday detox and prepping to enjoy myself for my next holiday in October. So Ive made a plan and aim to try and stick to it for the next couple of months....

*Join the gym. There is currently a deal on at my local leisure centre which is gym, swim and classes all inclusive for 6 weeks for just £35! This in my eyes is a massive bargain so Im going to pop on down there in the next few days and sort this out.

*No more cake! I love my cake a lot but instead of picking a slice up with my cup of tea Im going to opt instead for a piece of fruit, or nothing!

*Cut down on carbs for a bit. I don't really agree with 'no carb diets' as I like to enjoy a bit of everything, but Im just going to cut them out for the rest of this week so I can de-bloat!

*Eastenders + Bike = Happy Sally. I normally go on my exercise bike whilst watching Eastenders which helps massively as it makes time go by really quickly. I can normally do 10k within the half an hour and got into a really good routine of doing this every night! However come the end of uni and stress it just all fell out the window, so Im going to put this back into action, starting tonight!

*Keep a food diary. Apparently this really helps as it enables you to see exactly what you are eating throughout every day. I suffer quite a lot with the 'oh one won't hurt' disease which gets me nowhere, so Im thinking if I write it down then it may stop me from doing it!

*Dont weigh myself! This will do my no good at all, Im just going to keep going until I feel happy :)

Plan on actions starts now! Im off to get a bowl of fruit :)

Do you have any other tips and tricks that you do to detox from rubbish food??

A 'Sprinkle of Glitter' LOTD :)

I have recently been loving Sprinkle of Glitter's (a.k.a Louise!) blog posts about her 'love of the days'. I thought that I would have a little join in as I am recently on a saving spree myself so am lusting quite a lot over a lot of clothes at the moment. Probably due to the fact that I can't have/afford them which makes me want them even more!

At this moment in time it is this Dorothy Perkins top. I think that it is absolutely gorgeous! Im a massive fan of nude colors as having slight strawberry blonde hair I feel that it compliments my complexion. However, it is 35 pounds and being in my financial situation at the moment I can't really afford it! However I am heading up to the Mall tomorrow so may have to sneak in and try it on! If it looks amazing on then Im afraid that I may have to treat myself for a special night out....oh wait! I have my graduation this Friday and am heading out for drinks in the evening! Perfect!

There are many other pieces of clothing that I love at the moment, but this is my favorite and most wanted :)

Enjoy!

Saving Spree!

Well, recently it has come to my attention that I don't have all the money in the world and have found myself buying little bits and bobs here and there that is silently eating away and my bank balance without me noticing! A lot of these things have been necessities such as things for mm business and a new graduation outfit (woo-hoo). However others have been the sort of 'ooo I like that top' spending!

My final BIG buy is going to be my mac book laptop (which I have been saving for for over a year) + a Cath Kidston laptop sleeve, which in my world just has to be done. However after this, I am going to be going on a massive saving spree! This means that I am going to be having to find low cost and free fun activities for me to enjoy in order to save some pennies!

My list begins with:
*Using up all my makeup and toiletries instead of buying new for the sake of it

*Being more creative, such as making decorations for my birthday party rather than buying them online!

*Become more familiar with the kitchen. I am going to learn to cook by making meals for the fam which I feel will take up a lot of my time rather than going out to eat!

*Dont take my bank card out with me! I feel this will refrain me from spending without seeing. Only use the money that Im carrying!

*Find free activities with the boyfriend such as walks, movie nights etc.

*Saving Wages! I get paid cash in hand weekly for my work, alongside the odd photography job, but Im now going to split my wages exactly in half and have a saving tin:) Im also going to add in any loose change that I get. Im sure it will start adding up!

What ideas and activities do you have/do when you're low on funds?

Fashion/Life Icon - Lauren Conrad.

Over the past few years I have had a bit of a battle with the whole 'am I the wrong shape' idea. I know that I am not the only one in the world who has these feelings, as I can assure you that every single other girl on the planet has these feelings as well. I think that the majority of this imapact comes from the media such as reality tv shows, adverts, magazines and also the fact that we are now so much closer to celebrities lives and what they do than we were around 50 years ago. Celebrites have become a massive part of our lives and we all strive to be like them in one way or another.

In terms of fashion and beauty, I was always obsessed and influenced by the Olsen twins (Mary-Kate and Ashley) until I realised that they were completely making me obsessed with body image, as they are literally stick thin and gorgeous. It wasn't doing my head or self confidence any good so decided that I had to embrace myself and just accept that I am a curvy girl. (I would in no way call myself fat or chubby but I have a rather large 'Kim Kardashian' butt).

However over the past few weeks I have come to notice the absolutely gorgeous style of Lauren Conrad. I was never a massive fan of her when she was in The Hills but I think that now she is away from that she has matured into this confident beauty of a woman!

Her style is very classic and chic and she looks amazing in absolutely everything that she wears. What I like most about Lauren in that shes not one of these stick thin girls that you see in fashion everywhere these days, shes a normal size which makes her even more attractive.
I dont know how she does it but she literally just glows!

Lauren has also started her own fashion label called Paper Crown, and for me I think that any busniess prospects in a woman is very attractive. It shows her independance and confidence in life which is what all girls which to achieve and to aspire to.

She is literally perfect in every way possible!

Who are your fashion/life icons and for what reasons?

The End is Here...

So..after a very stressful two years, the time has come to say 'bye' to Uni..as I have now finished!! We had our final degree exhibition on Tuesday night (19th June) which had a really god turn out (which I was actually rather surprised about) which was then followed by a lot of drinks and a good dance in town with my fellow Uni chums..and our lecturers.

Im not really sure how I feel about finishing...I have been waitin for weeks and weeks for the end to come but now it is here, Im already feeling rather lost. I think that it is finally hit me that I wont be going back again come September, so I am officially a full time adult. Rahh!! This does terrify me quite a bit knowing that now the easy bit is over and I actually have to beging my life now!

Here are a couple of pics from my phone...more to follow when I recieve my camera from the boyfriends bedroom...(this sounds incredibly wrong.)

Saying Goodbye and Saying Hello

For those of you who don't know, over the past few months I have been training (I saw training but it really wasn't) for the Birstol Race for Life 10k! I decided that I wanted to do something worthwhile and practical so I thought that this would be the perfect thing! The Race for Life is a run/walk/jog for women and helps to raise money for Cancer Research Uk. There is no doubt in the whole world that Cancer is a massive part of pretty much everyones lives in the world, and ever single person has most likely been affected by Cancer at some stage in their life. For me it has recently been with my Uncle Paul, my mum's brother who was fighting with his illness for almost a year but sadly lost on the 27th December 2011. The part that affeced me the most was seeing my mum at her lowest over the past year which was heartbreaking as she is meant to be my support, rather than the other way round. Therefore I wanted to run this race in memory of Uncle Paul and to help fight this son-of-a-bitch illness once and for all!

The furthest I have ever ran in my life is 4K, and I thought that 10K couldn't be much harder. Oh how wrong I was!! I thought I was going to die at 1K....anyway...I managed to cross the finish line at 1 hour and 13 minutes which I was absolutely over the moon about and as a bonus managed to raise over £200!! So a little pat on the back for me :)
Before the race
After the race....yay!

Uncle Paul :)

Theres me down at the front next to my mum in the blue jumper :)

So after this event, and with very stiff legs, the following day I was able to meet my new baby cousin Toby :) He is the cutest little bundle of cuteness in the whole entire world! Ive always loved children and it is my dream in life to be a mother so this was an amazing moment for me :)

I guess the moral of this story is that, yes tragedies in familied do happen and loss is a horrible fact of life, but we also have to celebrate the new little lives who are entering the world and who are yet to go on their own massive journey! It's just so true how amazing and yet incredibly bazaar life really is :) Enjoy it little Toby :).

May favourites!

Ive taken some time this month to try out a few new products which I normally never really experiment with. I was before using the same old makeup routine and was getting a bit bored with it so wanted to try something new and fresh for spring/summer :) I have picked out a few of my favourites for the past month and wanted to share them with you so that you could possibly try them yourself if you wanted to try something a bit new!

First of all is my Rimmel 'Wake Me Up Foundation'. I normally find it really difficult to find a foundation that matches my skin tone as I have quite naturally olive skin so either end up going really orange or really pale. This foundation is a-mazing. It is so soft on your skin and has a medium cover, which therefore is buildable if you're not happy with the cover it gives. I also have quite normal skin texture but do suffer with dryness on the top of my nose but oily skin in the creases and around my chin. However this product works absolute wonders for coverage and blends really well. It also has a slight shimmery glow and dewy effect which just creates a fresh look. This is a definate reccomendation! Its also a bargain price at around £6-£9!!

Secondly is this 'Pore-fessional' base from Benefit. It is unbelieveable. I have never felt a product that is so soft and literally just melts into your skin. It is designed to cover the appearence of pores and create a smooth texture for your skin, and it really works wonders. I do suffer with quite bad pores over my nose and on the top of ym cheeks, but with this product I get an amazing finish. I never really go for more expensive makeup but wanted to treat myself and to see whether you do get quality for your money, and I have proved myself right! Its a bit expensive at £22 but if you do suffer with quite bad pores and are looking for a radiant finish, then this is for you! It can also be used over or under makeup which is so useful!

I do suffer with quite dry skin so was looking for a moisturiser that would so the job. I normally just go for E45 but was getting a bit bored as it is just a plain product with so scent and after a while was finding that it was making my skin a bit greasy. I therefore went on a hunt for a bit of a glamourous product that would also do the job. I tried a few but this 'Glow Job' for Soap and Glory is amazing!
It has great coverage and a little goes a long way. It also has a comforting summery sort of sun tan lotion scent, but the best thing about it is the tiny brozing pearls that literally explose as you but it on your face. Its a  perfect product to use if you are having a 'no make up' day as it gives you a soft base with a shimmer to it which creates a healthy glow! I love this product, and I think it was around the £9 mark!

I never normally buy blusher and normally just use a light bronzer on my skin as its got quite an olivey tone to it anyway. However I had a £5 voucher for No7 make up so went to see what I could find. I picked up a Mineral Perfection blusher in shade 'Dusted Damsen' and its brilliant. Its got a really gentle coverage which just gives you a bit of a rosy glow and blends really well so looks natural. Its also a really soft texture and doest feel like its just stuck on your face which is great! It was originally £9 but with the voucher was down to £4 so couldnt resist. Its brilliant quality and I highly reccomend for those who dont really like a strong and obvious blush.

The last product on my list is the Boots Essential facial toner for all skin types. I find that even when Ive taken all my makeup off and washed my face I still dont really have that 'fresh' feeling. I picked this up a cople of weeks ago and love it. Its got a cucumber scent and really gets into your skin and using a cotton pad really removes all left over oil and dirt. It makes me feel so fresh a clear skinned and is an amazing price at something like £2 a bottle. I might even buy the makeup remover too!

So that's it for May :) Im going to be experimenting with different products throughout June and summer too so will keep you updated with next months favourites in a few weeks :)

Simple Things: An Afternoon in the Garden
