Uni Stress!

In case you all didn't know I am currently studying a photography degree at university (oo-err). Im actually really proud of what I have acheived as I never really was the most academic person in the world. I attempted histroy at A-Level, which resulted in a teary melt down at parents evening and ended in my giving up (fail). Then there was English Literature which I absolutey loved! Not saying I was good at it at all! I just love reading a good book, but the academic side let me down, so I settles for a C!
Not knowing what other subject to fill my last option with I deided to opt for photography. Obviously I had the old 'youre not wasting your time with that' talk fom the parents, but it actually resulted in my loving it and finally finding something that I was actually good at!

So here I am today in my final year waiting to (hopefully) graduate at the end of 2012!

However I think that I am finally done with education. I am done with having to fill up mountains of sketch books, pulling my hair out over countless deadlines and having to have context and I meaning behind the images I take. I just want to take pretty pictures!

My aim is to become a wedding photographer and to be able to be a part of people's special days (until I can have one of my own).

I can't wait for the day where can just sit down, watch tv and do what I want without having the guilt of thinking 'I should really be doing uni work now'. So I just have to breath and push on for the last couple of months until I will be freeeee!!

Once in a lifetime...

I have just got to share my excitement with you!!
I have always been a huge fan of the 'top knot'. It is literally everwhere that you look...magazines,tumblr,youtube etc, and I have always been so jealous as I have never ever been able to do it properly and for it to look how I picture it in my head and how I see it on other people. But today, my lovely people, has been a revelation! I just decided to quickly shove my hair up to get it out my face, looked into the mirror and just exploded with happiness. I have created my most perfect top knot!! I think Im never going to wash my hair again and just leave it like this forever!
And here it is...

So the moral of my story is that practice does make perfect, but the more hours you practice the worse it gets. Thats doesnt even make any sense, but it has somehow worked!

Charity Shops.

I personally love shopping in charity shops. I think that you can find some amazing bargains, and especially now that fashion from the 50s and 60s is coming back in again, the stuff that older people have thrown away is now perfect for my generation!
This is my recent find...
Its the most gorgeous pendant on a long silver chain. I love the combination of the silver key and little heart lock to go with it.
I saw it last night when me and the family were walking back from having a curry and just wanted it so badly! It was on the mannequin in the shop window and its so my style.

I was going to go and get it myself after I finished work this morning, but my uncle, who is currently staying with us had been up town and beat me to it, bless him!
I just think its so cute, pretty and vintage and I love it.

4.Bedside

March 4. Bedside
I wanted to take a snapshot approach to this image and capture literally what was on my bedside when I found it rather than placing something there.
It's changing all the time as Im a very unorganised and messy person, as you will all find out soon enough, but today it features:

1. My '35mm Handbook'. Being a photographer in todays world it is very digitally based and all the work I do in on my digital camera. However recently I have been wanted to get back to the foundations of photography and start working with film again.

2. Titanic Love Stories. I am absolutely obsessed with the film Titanic (leonardo DiCaprio) which has lead me on to being really interested in the whole story of one of the most tragic times in history. My brother bought me for book for Christmas, just gone, but I've only just had the time to start reading it. It contains the stories of all the honey-mooners who were aboard the ship the night it sank and it a great read! Seriously recommend it!

3. Chanel Lipstick This is the best lipstick that I have ever owned in my whole lifetime and I literally can not go a day without it. It is the finishing touch to any outfit I wear and is on me at all times. Its the perfect shade of pink, not too light and not too vibrant. Just perfect :)

One thing you should know about me....

So once again there has been a massive fail at keeping up with posting my 'March Photo Challenge' pictures. It;s no lie, I have taken the images but I am literally the most disorganised person, which isn't great considering the career I want to do!!
I promise that the previous 2 pics will be arriving shortly:)

Big Sulk!

Hello my blogger friends!!
Ive had a really bad day today so not in a very good mood!
Also, I am very low on funds and there is a mountain of things I would like to buy, so If any of you lovely people are million (or even better billion) aires then please feel free to donate to me :D

1. Topsop Studded Loafers. It is unbelievable how much I want these shoes at the moment! I have visited the 2 biggest TopShop stores in my city around 5 times in the past couple of months and there has not been one single pair of size 4s. It is a joke. I have also tried online many of times and they have sold out too. So all you people who moan about having large feet (which is in no way a bad thing). Screw You. Because theres loads your size!

2. Studio Lighting Kit. I've been trying to find a studio kit for a while now, but still haven't decided on which to get. Also due to the fact that it's going to put me out of nearly £300, and at the time being I don't really have anywhere a suitable space to use it, it's pretty much still waiting to be purchased. I want to be able to take portraits, especially baby photos as these are the best, with them looking reasonably professional! Out of all the things this is definitely first on my list.

3. Canon 7-200mm L Lens This is by far the only thing I really need on my list. Due to the fact that I'm aiming to be a wedding photographer I need to buy sufficient quality lenses that will help me do my job. I already love the zoom lens I have but the quality just isn't as amazing as I would like. This was also recommended in a a wedding photography book that I have been reading and after a bit of research I am dying for it!

4. Mini Copper in Cream As soon as a start earning a bit of moo-la this is going to be the first thing on my list. Its not a necessity but I want to buy my own car soon and to have something big that I can say I've earned myself and chosen myself, with my own money. Its much more of a 'feel good' dream that something that can be reality just yet.

I hate being a student when it comes to money and buying things that you want. (even if some of those are not necessary!) and to be honest being a part time waitress with a car does not do justice when needing funds!
It also doesn't help when your a massive chocoholic like me and have given it up for lent which results in me being in a permanent bad mood.

5 weeks to go....

Anyway, moan over, mums going to Tesco to buy me a box of Krispy Kremes.

My Starting Point

I wanted to start my blog with something substantial instead of a load of mumbly stuff so...
I've decided to set myself the challenge of completely the March photo challenge! I am going to be posting an image each day...starting today from the instructions and see how well I get on with it! I might set myself the challenge of taking them all on instagram as I always have my phone with me so this will be handy, and I want to see if it can pass for being as great as it is said to be!
So I will keep you posted.

Welcome!

Hi there Bloggerinos!

I have taken over a few social networking sights, but my tumblr (which used to be my blog) has now become full of unnecessary images of things like hair, fashion....and One Direction. Therefore I have created this so that I can let myself go a bit and come out if 'professional mode' and just put pictures I like and my own stupid thoughts on here :) Thanks for following and I hope you enjoy:)
